Watford confirm Quique Sanchez Flores as Javi Gracia replacement as head coach

Watford have wasted no time in replacing the outgoing Javi Gracia as head coach, as they have confirmed the appointment of Quique Sanchez Flores.

A statement on the club website read:

"Watford FC announces the appointment of Quique Sánchez Flores as the club’s new Head Coach.

"The 54-year-old returns to Vicarage Road, having guided Watford to a comfortable mid-table finish during the 2015/16 campaign – the club’s first season back in the Premier League.

"He also led Watford to the semi-finals of the FA Cup during his year at the helm."

The announcement came just 30 or so minutes after the confirmation of the departure of head coach Javi Gracia.

Sanchez Flores will take charge of his first game back in charge of the Hornets when they Arsenal on Sunday 15th September.

The Spaniard was in charge of Watford for 44 games during 2015/16, winning 16, drawing nine and losing 19.
