Breaking: Warriors select James Wiseman with No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft

After five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals, injuries to Klay Thompson and Steph Curry led to a 15-50 season for the Warriors. Instead of another trip to the NBA Finals, the Warriors earned a top-pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

After an extended wait, the Golden State Warriors were finally on the clock in the NBA draft. With the No. 2 overall pick on draft night, the Warriors selected Memphis center James Wiseman.

Although the former five-star recruit only played three games at the college level, Wiseman impressed during his short stint at Memphis. The 7-foot-1 big man averaged 19.7 points on 76.9% shooting from the field with 10.7 rebounds and three blocks per contest. The former McDonald’s All-American recorded a double-double effort in each of his three games in college basketball.
