Granit Xhaka will not feature for Arsenal against Wolves on Saturday afternoon, head coach Unai Emery has confirmed.
The Gunners captain made his feelings clear to Gunners supporters after being jeered off against Crystal Palace last weekend.
Some fans cheered his substitution but those cheers swiftly turned to boos as Xhaka decided to stroll off instead of racing off and he responded by cupping his ear towards the fans before taking his shirt and storming straight down the tunnel.
The midfielder also appeared to shout f*** off" to the Arsenal fans as he departed and as a result didn't feature in Wednesday night's Carabao Cup loss against Liverpool.
Xhaka did offer an apology to fans for his actions with a lengthy social media post on Thursday.
But he will not earn a recall to the first-team when Wolves are the visitors to the Emirates Stadium.
"He is training," Emery said.
"He didn’t play in Liverpool for me he is continuing, above all [we are] focusing on tomorrow.”
Emery was then asked about the captaincy situation.
"I said we were waiting on Monday, on the last press conference here on Tuesday," he said.
"The next step is tomorrow the match. The focus is the match. It’s not in my mind he will play tomorrow.
"It’s not in my mind he’s going to play tomorrow. I am thinking tomorrow he’s not going to play."
