Two men shot and seriously injured at Killeek Lane in north Dublin

Two men have been arrested in connection with a double shooting in Dublin.

The pair were seriously injured after being blasted shortly before 12pm today.

One man was shot up to five times, while another man was hit in the back.

 The incident happened at Killeek Lane, near Dublin Airport.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 11.30am on Friday 17th January 2020 at Killeek Lane, St Margaret's, Swords, County Dublin. 

"Two males received treatment at the scene before being transferred to Beaumount and Connolly Memorial Hospital. 

"Two males have been arrested under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939. 

"No further information is available at this time."

Fianna Fail TD Darragh O'Brien posted on Twitter: "Awful news of another shooting in North Dublin. All information to Swords Garda station. Thoughts with family and friends."

Gardaí at Swords are investigating the incident and are asking for anybody who was in the Killeek Lane, St Margaret's area, between 11.30am and 12.30pm today to contact them at Swords Garda Station on 01-666 4700.
