Two British tourists have been attacked with a machete in a Guatemala national park.
Local reports say the pair were assaulted in Las Victorias National Park, in Alta Verapaz, on the outskirts of the city of Coban.
Guatemalan news site Prensa Libre reports the two English tourists were attacked within five minutes of entering the park.
A man reportedly emerged from the bushes armed with a machete and attacked the pair, they told firefighters at the park.
The woman sustained a forehead and leg wound, and the man received cuts to his knees.
Prensa Libre reports that the attacker stole the man's shoes.

Footage from local media shows the pair emerging from a fire service vehicle supported by a member of the park's brigade, with the woman's head heavily bandaged.
Prensa Libre reported that the pair took shelter in the National Forestry Institute facility at the park, and were aided by volunteer fireman.

Tourism Police were at the park tracing the area for the attacker following the assault on Tuesday local time, according to reports.
