Tottenham to face Dinamo Zagreb in Europa League Round of 16

Tottenham have been drawn to play Dinamo Zagreb following the Europa League Round of 16 draw in Nyon, Switzerland.

After coming out on top in Group J prior to Christmas, the Lilywhites cruised through to the final 16 of the competition after beating Wolfsberger AC 8-1 on aggregate in the Round of 32.

Winning away 4-1 last Thursday, Jose Mourinho's men then triumphed 4-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday as wonder goals from Dele Alli and Gareth Bale, as well a Carlos Vinicius double, sealed a convincing win.

Following their success over their Austrian opponents, Tottenham will now take on Dinamo Zagreb as they eye up a place in the quarter-finals.

The Croatian side qualified for the Round of 16 following victory over FK Krasnodar.

It won't be long at all before the games actually take place as they are pencilled in to be played on the 11th and 18th of March.

Spurs are due to travel to Zagreb for the first leg before welcoming them for the second. However, given the ongoing and differing COVID restrictions across Europe those venues are subject to change.

With a number of big sides competing for the prize, Tottenham could have been drawn against any one of Arsenal, AC Milan, Ajax, Rangers, Dinamo Zagreb, Dynamo Kiev, Granada, Manchester United, Molde, Olympiacos, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Slavia Prague, Villarreal or Young Boys in the Round of 16.

Currently the second favourites behind Manchester United to lift the trophy come May, Spurs will have their fingers crossed that Mourinho can lead the team to final in Gdansk, Poland following his previous success in the competition.

Rivals Arsenal will take on Olympiacos in the Round of 16, with Manchester United facing AC Milan.
