Tottenham's Europa League tie away against Wolfsberger AC switched to Budapest

Tottenham's Europa League Round of 32 first leg tie against Wolfsberger AC will now take place in Budapest, Hungary next Thursday.

Following a number of European games changing venues in recent days due to Covid-19 restrictions in certain countries, Spurs' first game in the knockout phase of the competition will now not take place in Austria as initially planned.

A statement on the club's official website read: "The first leg of our UEFA Europa League round of 32 tie against Austrian side Wolfsberger AC will now take place in Budapest, Hungary, next week.

"The new Puskás Aréna, home of the Hungary national team, will host the match as COVID-19 regulations in Austria mean we can no longer play at the Worthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt.

"Kick-off remains at 5.55pm UK (6.55pm local)."

London rivals Arsenal have also been hit by a couple of venue changes for their Europa League showdown against Benfica.

Down to play away in Portugal in the first leg next Thursday, the European clash will now be held at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The tie will then come to a conclusion at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskakis in Athens as Covid restrictions mean the second leg can now no longer be played at the Emirates.

Following Tottenham's first leg against Wolfsberger AC, the return leg in north London will be played on Wednesday, February 24 with a 5pm kick-off in N17.
