Tottenham have revealed when their postponed game against Leicester will now be played, after it was called off last month.
After Spurs' 3-0 victory over Norwich, their Covid outbreak meant their Europa Conference League game against Rennes and their Premier League fixture against Brighton were both postponed.
The Lilywhites were then meant to travel to Leicester for a mid-week league fixture and football.london reported, two days before the game, that some of the affected players had started to return to training following their isolation periods.
Tottenham had asked the league if they could play their postponed match against Rennes on the Wednesday (December 15) and move their tie against Claudio Ranieri's side.
Not only did Spurs not get to play the European game, which was given as a 3-0 victory to Rennes, although the appeal over UEFA's decisions is still with the club's lawyers, as football.london reported on Monday, but they also didn't play the tie against Leicester.
As with many other clubs who have faced Covid outbreaks forcing them to postpone games, the Premier League now have to reschedule all of these matches, amongst an already busy schedule teams experience.
Spurs have started doing this, with their trip North against Leicester now postponed to Wednesday January 19.
The game at the King Power Stadium will still be a 7:30pm kick-off and will be broadcast live on BT Sport.
This means that the new date falls in between two London derbies that the Lilywhites are already scheduled to play. One being the second North London Derby of the season, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the other being another trip to Stamford Bridge in Spurs' third game against Chelsea of the month.
