Tottenham fire: 80 firefighters tackle blaze at White Hart Lane warehouse

Around 80 firefighters are tackling a fire at a warehouse in White Hart Lane, Tottenham this morning.

The ground floor, first floor and roof of the two-storey building are currently alight.

Crews from Hornsey, Edmonton, Southgate, Stoke Newington and surrounding fire stations were called to the blaze just after 3.30am.

London Fire Brigade has sent a dozen appliances to the incident, which is near Fenton Road and the Haringey Borough FC ground.

Station Manager Mark Jordan, who is at the scene, is advising residents in the area to keep their doors and windows shut.

He said: “The road is currently closed in both directions west of the A10 Great Cambridge Road to Rivulet Road. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

“Local residents are being advised to keep doors and windows shut due to the smoke from the fire as crews work to bring the blaze under control.”

Footage posted on social media shows huge pillars of smoke rising behind a row of residential houses in the area.
