Breaking: Tottenham confirm how long Hugo Lloris will be out

Hugo Lloris will be out until next year after dislocating his elbow at the weekend.

There were fears that the spurs skipper had broken his arm, after going down in agony after the first Seagulls goal at the Amex Stadium.

Lloris was given oxygen on the pitch after his mistake allowed Brighton to take the lead.

However it was confirmed that no fracture had taken place, with the injury instead being a dislocation to his elbow.

The good news for Hugo Lloris is that surgery will not be required, however he still faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

A statement on the Tottenham website said: "Hugo Lloris has undergone further assessment this morning after sustaining a dislocated elbow in our match against Brighton on Saturday.

The findings have shown that although surgery will not be required, our Club Captain has suffered ligament damage and is not expected to return to training before the end of 2019.

Hugo is currently in a brace and will now undergo a period of rest and rehabilitation under the supervision of our medical staff at Hotspur Way."
