Tottenham ban fan who threw object at Kepa Arrizabalaga vs Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur have identified and banned a supporter who threw a cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during Sunday's 2-0 home defeat.

Kepa was targeted by a supporter behind the goal in the 65th minute with his side already two goals down.

The cup missed the Spanish goalkeeper by a matter of inches as he walked across his six-yard box before collecting the item and tossing it off the pitch.

Spurs released a statement on Tuesday confirming they have identified and banned a supporter in relation to the incident.

"We can confirm that we have identified and issued an immediate ban to the individual responsible for throwing a cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during Sunday's Premier League home fixture," the Premier League club said in a statement .

"We shall continue to take the strongest action possible against anyone found to be behaving in this way."

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was also allegedly racially abused in the match, and the German defender urged the club to find and punish those involved.

Spurs have said their investigation into that "remains ongoing" with investigations so far proving "inconclusive".

A separate club statement on Monday read: "We are able to track every fan via the cameras and have spent many hours reviewing CCTV footage.

"We have engaged lip-readers to study the footage and contacted Chelsea for further information from their players.

"We have also taken statements from other parties present at the time. The police will be reviewing our evidence alongside us. Please be assured we shall be exhaustively investigating this matter.

"At this time, however, we should point out that our findings are inconclusive and would ask that comment is reserved until the facts are established."
