Teenager found dead in underpass by police after early-morning call

A 19-year-old man has been found dead in an Essex underpass after police received an early-morning call.

Officers made the discovery just after 7.30am in Harlow.

They are not treating the man's death as suspicious.

The area was taped off while emergency services rushed to the scene, reports Essex Live.

Witnesses also reported seeing police searching the side of the road.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a sudden death at an underpass on the A414 in Harlow, close to Commonside Road, shortly after 7.30am on 7 October.

"Sadly, a 19-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner."
