Adam Idah and Jayson Molumby have been promoted to the Ireland senior squad for the Nations League games against Bulgaria and Finland.
New boss Stephen Kenny named his first squad today and included 24 players for the double-header.
Norwich City striker Idah and Brighton midfielder Molumby - who impressed on loan at Millwall last season - were star turns in Kenny’s Ireland Under-21 team.
This is their first senior call-up while Troy Parrott, a team-mate at Under-21 level and who made his senior debut last year under Mick McCarthy, is included among the strikers.
Fulham’s Harry Arter returns from the cold and Blackburn’s Darragh Lenihan is among the defenders.
But veteran Glenn Whelan, Sean Maguire and Jack Byrne are among those to miss out.
David McGoldrick has been ruled out of the Bulgaria game because of a foot injury but Kenny hopes to have him available to face Finland.
The Irish squad gathers in Dublin this Sunday evening and will train on Monday and Tuesday before departing for Sofia ahead of the game on September 3.
The Boys in Green then host the Finns at Aviva Stadium on September 6 and both games are behind-closed-doors.
Ireland boss Kenny is due to speak about his squad selection at a press conference this afternoon.
