Stephen Bear jailed for 21months for posting images of him having sex with ex-girlfriend

Stephen Bear was sentenced to 21 months in prison on Friday after being found guilty of sharing images of him having sex with his ex-girlfriend in December following a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.

The reality star was handed a 21 month prison sentence after being found guilty of voyeurism by a majority verdict and guilty to two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress by an unanimous verdict by a jury.

Bear received 21 months in prison for sharing the video to Only Fans, with nine months for count one and six months for count two, to run concurrently. Count one is a voyeurism charge and count two regards sending the video on WhatsApp to someone.

After being sentenced, Bear addressed the court, saying: "Have a good weekend everyone."

Stephen arrived at Chelmsford Crown Court dressed in black - in contrast to the exaggerated outfits he sported during the trial - alongside his fiancée Jessica Smith, who was also dressed head to toe in black.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner posed for selfies and could be heard singing Lady In Red as a journalist attempted to question him before a member of the public called Bear a "f***ing scumbag" as he went in to court.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner was accused of planning to film himself having sex with Love Island star Georgia Harrison, 27, who has waived her right to anonymity, at his home in August 2020 and subsequently sharing the CCTV footage on his OnlyFans account without her consent.

Ms Harrison was present at the court for the sentencing and arrived with her mum before Bear and his partner.

The reality star's mother Linda and father Stephen were also present at proceedings.

Bear's sentencing was delayed after his defence barrister Gemma Rose made an application to adjourn the hearing on January 30 until the beginning of March. He was due to be sentenced on January 31.

Following a probation report, Ms Rose argued Bear should undergo a psychiatric assessment as those who had assessed him so far had been "unable to formally diagnose" and it would be "beneficial" to the court for a full assessment to be undertaken.

She said: "The sentence should be adjourned for the wait to prepare this report. I realise the delay will cause stress and anxiety to all those involved in the proceedings, but it's in my submission the court have all the evidence available before it.

"The crown have cited Mr Bear's behaviour at trial and I believe a psychiatric report will provide some context."

Ms Harrison was in the courtroom when the guilty verdict was read out in December. Bear remained calm when the verdict was delivered but at the end, in the dock, he said: "From the beginning, it was never a fair trial, I was always fighting a losing battle."

After Bear was found guilty last year, Ms Harrison said: “I hope me taking a stand gives other men and women who have fallen victim to revenge porn the courage to seek justice and most importantly show them that they have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.”
