BREAKING! St Mirren chairman Gordon Scott provides financial update to reassure fans

St Mirren chairman Gordon Scott insists the club are in a strong position to overcome the financial hit caused by coronavirus.

The Buddies are facing up to months without gate receipt cash with football expected to remain on hold for the next few months at least.

But the Saints moved to reassure fans that they would be able to steer through the trouble thanks to the fans backing over the last four years.

He said: “This is clearly an unprecedented situation we are facing and we will continue to follow advice given from the Government and the Joint Response Group.

“While the club will take a hit financially, I’d like to assure all our fans that, thanks to their support over the last four seasons, we are in a strong position to get through this difficult time and with your continued support and understanding we will see this through.

“Until we have clear advice on whether the rest of the season will continue or be brought to an end we cannot comment further.

“The club will monitor the situation on a weekly basis and will provide regular updates.
