Snapchat, YouTube, Gmail and Uber down due to Google Cloud outage

Google Cloud is down which has caused issues with Snapchat, YouTube, Gmail and Uber.

The outage for Google Cloud is critical for numerous websites and apps across the internet.

Discord, which is a community chat application, told users: "A Google Cloud Services outage is impacting our services in certain regions, sorry about the trouble!"

News of the outage quickly spread across social media, with #YouTubeDOWN and #snapchatdown rising to the top of Twitter's Trending Topics section as users voiced their frustrations.

There is an issue with Google Cloud (X90184)

On the Google Cloud Platform website it says: "We are currently encountering a cloud networking issue throughout all Google Cloud Platform, this is affecting all products currently."

At 1.45pm (US/pacific time) they wrote: We are experiencing high levels of network congestion in the eastern USA, affecting multiple services in Google Cloud, G Suite and YouTube.

"Users may see slow performance or intermittent errors. We believe we have identified the root cause of the congestion and expect to return to normal service shortly."

Pokemon Go, Nest and Google Drive are also suffering due to the outage.

It is not immediately clear what has caused today's issue or when services might be restored.
