Sidharth Shukla dead: Indian actor dies at 40 following heart attack

Indian TV star Sidharth Shukla has died.

The actor famed for winning Bigg Boss 13 - the Indian reality television game show of Big Brother and hosting India's Got Talent - was 40.

The actor was taken to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday morning after a heart attack.

According to reports, the actor was dead when he arrived at the medical venue.

A senior Cooper Hospital official told PTI: “He was brought dead to the hospital some time ago.”

The initial report indicates that he died of a heart attack but a senior doctor told the Hindustan Times that more will be known after a post mortem.

Tributes poured in on social media from heartbroken fans.

One penned: "Shocked and saddened by the untimely demise of television & film actor #SidharthShukla Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends & admirers."

A second added: "I heard about #SidharthShukla please god that was shocking that's kinda unbelievable but may his soul rest in peace."

More echoed: "It’s going to take time to sink this in.. Gone way too too soon.. So sharp and extreamly likeable" and "Shocked beyond words..Heartbreaking... RIP #SidharthShukla."

Sidharth Shukla was active on Twitter earlier this week and in his last tweet, posted on August 30, the kind star congratulated athletes Sunil Antil and Avani Lekhara on their gold wins at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Sidharth made his acting debut with a lead role in the 2008 show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na.

In 2014, he made his Bollywood debut in a supporting role in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.

He emerged as the winner of reality shows Bigg Boss 13 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 and then became the hosts of Savdhaan India and India's Got Talent.
