BREAKING: Seven more coronavirus deaths in Dumfries and Galloway in past week

24 people in Dumfries and Galloway have died as a result of coronavirus.

The region's health board has just revealed that a further seven people passed away in the past week where Covid-19 was believed to be the primary cause or a contributing factor.

All but three of the deaths have been in hospital.

As of yesterday, nearly 200 people had tested positive in Dumfries and Galloway for Covid-19, with people in hospital with confirmed or susepcted cases.

So far, more than 600 people across Scotland have died as a result of the pandemic.
