Horrifying footage shows a huge fire ripping through a skyscraper as terrified people scream while trying to dodge debris.
The blaze broke out in the city of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, and it is not yet clear how many people were inside the building at the time.
The residential Abbco building in the Al Nahda area, which has 48 floors, was engulfed in flames in images taken by shocked onlookers.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but authorities claim seven people suffered "light" injuries and were taken to hospital.
Surrounding buildings are also thought to be at risk of catching fire, prompting fire crews to order evacuations throughout the area.
Video from the scene shows the devastating blaze engulfing the building, which is 17 miles north of Dubai.
Sharjah Civil Defence teams told Gulf News that residents had been evacuated.
The fire broke out shortly after 9pm local time.
One resident told Gulf News: “It was a small fire to begin with and we came out of the building as soon as we saw it.”
Another said residents have been forced to take shelter in their cars because they have nowhere else to go.
Witness Petal Jaison told the publication that another smaller building had also caught fire.
Shops nearby also had to be evacuated, officials said, while fire crews battle the horrific blaze.
