Scott Parker has left Burnley by mutual consent.
The Clarets have endured a torrid return to the top flight, finding themselves 19th in the Premier League with relegation back to the Championship already confirmed.
Parker, who led Burnley up to the top flight last season in second place behind Leeds United, took over at Turf Moor in the summer of 2024 and has now led three clubs to promotion – and been sacked from all three, with two (the other being Fulham) returning to the Championship after a season.
Burnley have parted ways with Scott Parker after a little under two years
In a statement, Burnley confirmed the mutual parting of Parker and thanked the former midfielder for his service in the dugout.
“The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Scott for his professionalism, dedication and contribution,” Burnley said. “He leaves with the respect and gratitude of everyone connected with Burnley Football Club.

“The process of appointing a new permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season has begun.”
Burnley recorded 100 points in their last Championship campaign but after spending less than £10 million on players after returning to the Premier League, the Lancashire outfit have struggled greatly.
Parker's side have won just four matches in the Premier League all season, with their drop confirmed in a 1-0 loss to Manchester City last week.
Three of those victories came before November, with the club having lost four in a row – and to compound matters, the Clarets were knocked out in the Fourth Round of both domestic cups this season by League One opposition.
FourFourTwo understands that former Aston Villa boss, Steven Gerrard, is a serious candidate on the shortlist to replace former England colleague Parker in the dugout, after a hiatus away from management following his exit from the Saudi Pro League.

Burnley was Parker's fourth stint in management, following time spent at Fulham, Bournemouth and Club Brugge, with the 45-year-old having established himself as a promotion specialist over the years.
Mike Jackson takes charge of Burnley until the end of the season now, just as he did after the dismissal of Sean Dyche.
The relegated side travel away to Leeds when Premier League action resumes this weekend.
