BREAKING: Police tape off Salford house after man found dead

Police have taped off a house in Salford after a man was found dead last night.

Emergency services were called to Memorial Road, in Walkden, at around 9pm on Monday (June 7).

They were initially called to reports of 'concerns over the welfare of a man', police said.

A man, aged 60, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's death is currently 'unexplained' (STEVE ALLEN)

His death is currently 'unexplained' and detectives have now launched an investigation.

Pictures taken at the scene this morning show the entrance to a house taped off.

One police car was stationed on the road.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old man in Salford.

"Officers were called to Memorial Road, Walkden, at about 9pm on 7 June 2021 to concerns over the welfare of a man.

"NWAS also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"His death is currently unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
