Police are in attendance and have taped off an area of parkland at Westcraigs in Blantyre tonight.
Homeowners in the estate have reported a heavy police presence on Westerpark Avenue, close to Dornoch and Halkirk Gate.
Residents also say a police helicopter had been hovering above shortly before officers swooped on the area.
One concerned homeowner told Lanarkshire Live: "Police often patrol this area as we've had a bit of trouble over the last few months, but tonight it seems that something quite serious has happened down by the park and lane on Westerpark Avenue, close to Halkirk Gate.
"It's quite unsettling."
