Police have shut a city centre road after reports of a man on a roof near Piccadilly train station this evening.
Officers were called to Aytoun Street at around 4.10pm today (January 14) after receiving a concern for welfare for a male on the roof of the building on Piccadilly Place.
The road between Minshull Street and Auburn Street remains closed as police respond to the incident.

Police said the male is believed to have fled the scene and officers currently remain in the area as they carry out their enquiries.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said traffic is facing delays in the area, with vehicles and a number of bus services in the area are being diverted via Minshull Street, Portland Street and London Road.
In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 4.10pm this afternoon, officers were called to a concern for welfare for a male on the roof of a building on Piccadilly Place.
"Emergency services attended the scene and the male is believed to have fled the scene.
"Officers remain in the area to conduct further enquiries.”
