Police cars and ambulances raced to an Aberdeen street late on Wednesday afternoon after a man was allegedly attacked with a weapon.
Several police vehicles and ambulances were spotted on the city's Ruthrieston Circle after a 41-year-old was allegedly targeted.
Unmarked police cars were also at the scene as officers responded to the incident.
A 49-year-old was later arrested in connection with the alleged attack.
Locals told how they struggled to get through the street due to the huge emergency service presence.
A Police Scotland statement said: "At around 4.25pm on Wednesday police were called to a report of a man having been attacked with a weapon in Ruthrieston Circle.
"Emergency services attended and a 41-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and was released after treatment.
"A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing."
