Police investigate suspected shooting at pub as window left smashed

Police are investigating after a suspected shooting at a pub in Trafford.

Officers were called to 'a report of a suspected firearms discharge' at the scene on Lostock Road at around 11.30pm last night (Sunday). A cordon was put in place around The Nags Head pub.

Police said they found a window had been left damaged. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether this was caused by gunshots.

Detectives said they are 'keeping an open mind'. Forensic officers and Tactical Aid Unit officers were pictured carrying out searches and sweeps at the scene this morning.

A forensic officer was spotted taking photos of a cracked window in the pub. A cordon was in place around the beer garden and paved area around the pub until around 12.30pm this afternoon.

Police are urging any witnesses- or anyone with information - to come forward. Detective Inspector Matt Dixon, of GMP’s Trafford District, said: "We are keeping an open mind in relation to how the damage has been caused.

"There will be an increased police presence in the surrounding area as we carry out our enquiries today and I would encourage anyone who feels they have information that can assist us to please approach our officers. Detectives are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/ doorbell footage from this area in the moments leading up to and after this incident happened."
