A police car was involved in a dramatic crash in Rochdale tonight which ended when the officer was rammed off the road.
Pictures from the scene showed a patrol car with extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.
An ambulance was also at the scene.

Eye-witness told the M.E.N. officers from Lancashire Police were involved in the pursuit of a van.
They described how one officer appeared to have been injured.

Norton Road just north of Rochdale town centre was closed off tonight as an investigation into the incident began.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said officers were responding to a report of a domestic incident in Whitworth, Lancashire, when they noticed a Sprinter van 'driving erratically'.
"We requested it to stop. It failed to stop and a pursuit developed which ended a short time later when the Sprinter van rammed the police car and made off," he said.
A female officer suffered minor injuries in the crash, the spokesman confirmed.
The M.E.N. has asked GMP for a comment.
