Dumfries and Galloway has suffered no coronavirus deaths for at least a fortnight.
For the second week running, NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s weekly update reveals no one else has succumbed to the virus with the region’s death toll remaining at 44.
The mortality figures are based on the number of people who have died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus.
The National Records of Scotland base their figures on the number of cases where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The region has a death rate of 3.2 per 10,000 people, giving NHS Dumfries and Galloway the lowest rate among mainland Scotland's healthboards.
