BREAKING NEWS: Public appeal made after dog is stolen in Perthshire village

An eyewitness appeal has been made after a dog was stolen from a home in a Perthshire village.

The shocking incident took place this morning in the Meikleour area.

The two-year-old brown and white Jack Russell Terrier was taken from the front kennel of a house.

Missing Pets, Perth and Kinross posted on its Facebook page appealing to the public for information.

It read: "Can everyone please look out for this poor wee dog.

"He was stolen at around 9.30am this morning from the Meikleour area of Perthshire.

"The thieves came up the owner's drive and stole one of their dogs out the front kennel and took off.

"The stolen dog is a small Jack Russel Terrier, brown and white in colour and two-years old and is microchipped.

"The man who stole him was wearing blue Ellesse tracksuit bottoms, a camouflage jacket and a black mask and blue Beanie hat.

"He spoke English with a small lisp.

"The car was a 2006 five-door blue focus, with wind defectors on the front, number plate possibly reads SC06.

"The police have been informed and we will add an incident number to this post when the owner has it."

Those with any information are urged to contact the police and the Missing Pets Facebook page.
