BREAKING NEWS: Firefighters race to huge blaze near Abernethy

Firefighters raced to farmland near Abernethy this morning to tackle a huge blaze.

Five fire engines were first dispatched to douse the towering flames coming from two barns, which some local reports believe to be the Netherton Equestrian Centre, in the Aberargie area at around 11.28am.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We were alerted at 11.28am on Friday, October 4, to reports of a fire on a farm near Abernethy, Perthshire.

“Operations Control mobilised five appliances to the premises just off the A912, where crews are tackling a fire that has taken hold in two barns.

“Firefighters remain at the scene."

The cause of the flames are as of yet unclear and whether anyone has been injured as a result is also unclear.
