Mauricio Pochettino misses out on FIFA Best Coach award to Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been named as The Best Fifa Men's Coach.

The German tactician, who guided the Reds to the Champions League last season, has won the award ahead of Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino.

This is somewhat of a repeat of last season's final in Spain as the Argentine has to settle for being second best to Klopp.

Speaking at the awards ceremony in Italy, Klopp was classy as ever in his acceptance speech.

"It is great, nobody expected this 20, 10, five, four years ago that I would be standing here," he said. "Mauricio, I won that game (the Champions League final), that's why I'm here not you.

"That's just how football is.

"We know what an incredible job you [Mauricio Pochettino] did and what Pep did.

"I have to say thank you to my outstanding club Liverpool FC. Whoever doesn't love it, has no heart.

"To the owners thank you, they gave me an incredible team. I have to thank my team - as a coach you can only be as good as your team is.

"I'm really proud of being manager of such an incredible bunch of players.

"This is an individual prize, I don't 100% understand individual prizes, I'm here for a lot of people."

Klopp then finished up by making an heartwarming announcement.

"We are all here on the really good side of life. There are people out there who do not have the same situation. From today on I am a member of the Common Goal family. If you don't know it, Google it."
