Masked Singer's Grandfather Clock unmasked as football legend Glenn Hoddle

Grandfather Clock was unmasked as Glenn Hoddle this evening on The Masked Singer this evening.

The 63-year-old football legend's exit comes after Alien was unveiled as Sophie Ellis-Bextor, followed by Seahorse as Mel B and Swan as Martin McCutcheon.

Following his unveiling, Glenn said that he had taken part in the ITV show because he "loved singing".

"I’ve always had a passion for singing and I wanted to give it a go (again)," he said. "When this came along which was too good to say no to."

He admitted that he had found it "incredibly tough" keeping his appearance on the show a secret.

"I wanted to share the news with my children and grandchildren as I knew they’d love it. I’ve had to bite my tongue on a few occasions," he said.

Glenn also branded the secrecy surrounding his identity "very surreal".

"Walking around and not being able to say thank you to someone if they held a door open or hi as you walk past someone in the corridor," he said. "I’ve never experienced anything like this before and not sure I will again."

Earlier, fans had been able to rumble his true identity after noticing clues about his postcode and the 'hand of God'.

Tonight, Blob, Grandfather Clock, Bush Baby, Viking and Harlequin battled it out to win over the audience.

So far, Blob's true identity has largely escaped viewers, though some have suggested that it could be Noel Edmonds.

Some have theorised that Blob could be referring to Noel's former co-star Mr Blobby on his Saturday night variety show, Noel's House Party.

But, due to his clues about having "four eyes" and being "big bright and bold", some have suggested that it could be a famous glasses-wearing celeb.

Viking pronounced his name with the emphasis on the "king" and said he was very curious, an explorer who forged his own way, and that he was looking for a voice.

Guesses from viewers included Si King, Brian Cox, Aled Jones, and Gareth Malone.

Others believe the gentle-voiced crooner is Ricky Wilson, Gareth Thomas, or Olly Murs.

Bush Baby sang on The Masked Singer (ITV)

Bush Baby's Aussie theme and accent have many convinced that there's a transatlantic connection.

Some have guessed it could be Aussie pop star Peter Andre, while some have put forward Jason Donovan and either Ant or Dec, as the Geordie presenters host I'm A Celeb Down Under.

Harlequin's mysterious clue is: " Harlequin could be a joker in the pack or a stunning singer".

Some fans have been led to believe this means the singer is a member of Girls Aloud.

It would make sense as last year's winner was Nicola Roberts, who was unmasked as the Queen Bee.

Other viewers are convinced Harlequin has a royal connection - following last week's theory that the Swan was Meghan Markle.
