The body of a man has been found in a bin lorry in south London.
Officers were called to the incident around 5.35am this morning (February 24) after reports a body had been found.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and police said that they were treating the death as unexplained.
The London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade also attended the incident in Camberwell.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called to reports of a man’s body found in the rear of a bin lorry in Bethwin Road.
"The man – no further details - was pronounced dead at the scene.
"At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained."
"Enquiries into the circumstances continue."
The Biffa bin lorry was driven away under police escort just before 2.30pm, accompanied by an unmarked police car.
