A file will now be prepared for the coroner.

The M.E.N understands that a police cordon was in place earlier this morning, but it has since been lifted.

One police car was pictured parked outside a pub earlier.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers were called just before 5.30am this morning (21 December 2021) to a report of a medical episode on Clarendon Place in Hyde.

"Emergency services attended and sadly a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for HM Coroner."
