Man found dead at house in Stockport

A man has been found dead at a house in Stockport.

Officers were called to a report of a 'sudden death' at a house on Wakefield Crescent in Romiley just after 10.30am this morning (Saturday).

A man - aged in his 50s - was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A file will be passed to the coroner.

An eyewitness told the M.E.N that two police vehicles were stationed on Wakefield Crescent this morning.

Paramedics are said to have been at the scene for over an hour.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers were called around 10.40am today (Saturday 1 May) to Wakefield Crescent, Romiley to a report of a sudden death.

"Emergency services attended and a man in his 50s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
