A man is in hospital fighting for his life after a serious crash on a main road in Rochdale. Emergency services were called to the scene on Whitworth Road at around 10.45pm on Wednesday night (February 8).
Police blocked off the road, at the junction with St Mary's Gate (A58) for a number of hours as investigations were carried out at the scene. A car was also pictured within the cordon with a smashed window, with paramedics also attending the incident.
One man was rushed to hospital from the scene with life-threatening injuries. He remains there fighting for his life following the collision. Investigations into the collision are continuing and no arrests have been made.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to the scene of a road traffic accident between two vehicles at approximately 10.45pm on Wednesday 8 February 2023, on Whitworth Road in Rochdale.
"Colleagues from NWAS also attended. A man had sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident and is currently being treated at hospital. No arrests have yet been made and investigations are ongoing."
