Man, 55, mauled and pronounced dead at scene after brutal dog attack

A man has died after being attacked by a dog in a village on the outskirts of Dundee.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the Bonnyton Road area of Kirkton of Auchterhouse in Angus at around 1.10pm on Wednesday December 22.

Officers said the 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."

It has not yet been revealed what type of dog was involved in the fatal attack.
