Man, 33, dies after falling off motorbike while riding in tandem

A 33-year-old man has died in a horror motorbike crash in Trafford.

The biker fell from his Yahama MT-07 ABS motorcycle while riding in tandem with two others, police said. Officers believe he may have crashed with one of the other riders.

He was rushed to hospital from the scene on Church Road in Urmston but tragically died from his injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

Police said no arrests have been made at this stage. They are appealing for any witnesses of the crash - which happened at around 9.55am yesterday (Sunday) - to come forward.

After the crash, police cordoned off a section of Church Road as officers guarded each end. A motorbike was pictured inside the cordon.

Sergeant Matt Waggett of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "A man has very sadly died as a result of this collision and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

"No arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation but we are currently appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or witnessed the three motorcycles or the collision, to come forward and assist us with our investigation.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage so I would encourage anyone who was in the area to check their devices as they may have unknowingly captured vital evidence."

This collision was the fourth fatality involving a motorbike in the last few days in Greater Manchester. A 19-year-old man tragically died after his motorbike ploughed into a wall outside a pub in Wigan on Saturday.

A 46-year-old man died after a crash between a motorbike and a car on the A57 near to Barton Airport just before 6am on Wednesday. And on Friday, a man in his 30s was tragically killed after a crash involving his motorbike and a car on Leigh Road in the Boothstown area of the city.
