M6 CLOSED after man falls from bridge with motorists told to stay away

The M6 has been closed after a man is feared to have fallen from a bridge over the busy motorway.

Police are at the scene in Lancashire and warned motorists to avoid the area.

It happened close to Junction 28, prompting officers to shut the motorway between Junctions 28 and 29 northbound.

A spokeswoman from the North West Ambulance Service told Mirror Online that paramedics were called shortly before 9.45am.

She said an air ambulance was sent to the scene, but there are currently no details available about injuries.
