Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen collided yet again as they failed to finish the Italian GP.
It was a joyous day for McLaren as Daniel Ricciardo took the chequered flag while Lando Norris finished second to complete the 1-2.
The Australian's win gave McLaren their first F1 victory since 2012, when Hamilton was still on their books.
In another shocking incident, the Mercedes driver had just left the pit lane and re-entered the track but Verstappen flew up on his left hand side.
The Red Bull driver aimed to squeeze up the inside of Hamilton but did not have the room, and his car bobbled over the curb on the bend.
The wheels of his Red Bull came together with that of Hamilton's Mercedes.
The clash forced the Dutchman's car up into the air as both vehicles skidded off the track, with the Red Bull car on top of Lewis' head.
This race marked the first time the seven-time world champion has failed to finish in 63 starts and he trudged off disappointed after Verstappen had already begun the slow walk back to the pits.
Once there Verstappen - who leads Hamilton by just three points in the drivers' standings - fumed to his colleagues: "He didn't leave me any space."
Post-race Hamilton have his thoughts on the collision.
“I feel a bit stiff and sore in my neck as [the wheel] landed on my head. But I’ll be OK.”
“I was racing as hard as I could I finally got past Lando I was in the lead time wise so they pitted. Lost a second there, came out Daniel went past saw Max was coming and made sure I made sure I left a car’s width on the outside. I went into turn one and was ahead and was ahead going into turn two and then all of a sudden he’s on top of me.”
The 36-year-old believes Verstappen should have given way, the same way he did on turn four of the first lap.
He added: “Exactly the same scenario [as earlier in the race] I gave way, he didn’t. It’s frustrating.”
Ricciardo claimed his first win since Monaco 2018 for Red Bull.
After the race, Ricciardo said: "The August break was good just to reset, I felt better the last three weekends. And to not only win but to get a one-two... For McLaren to be on the podium is huge, let alone a one-two. I'm for once, lost for words."
The explosive F1 season will continue in two weeks with the Russian GP, where Verstappen leads Hamilton in the Driver's standings by five points.
