Arsenal's trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United was suspended only minutes after kick-off as a power issue played havoc with the referee's communication system.
A reported 'power surge' at kick-off saw the issues arise, with play initially being halted before both sides were then sent back to the dressing rooms by official Chris Kavanagh.
The game was only a matter of seconds old with reports suggesting that the television feed, VAR, referee communications and even the lights at Elland Road were all affected. The lights did restore themselves almost instantly - although the same cannot quite be said of the rest of the in-game systems.
As stadium staff and the officials attempted to identify the root of the problem, both sides stayed out on the pitch with play suspended. Both sets of players attempted to stay warm.
Following a conversation between the referee and managers Mikel Arteta and Jesse Marsch, the decision was then made to take both sides back to the dressing rooms as work continued on restoring power inside Elland Road.
The officiating team did return at around 2:30pm - this time donning their pre-match uniform - to test VAR. They were then followed by both sets of players, who went through routine ten-minute warm ups ahead of restarting the match.

An announcement was made over the Elland Road PA system that play was set to get back underway at 2:40pm - 40 minutes after the match's original kick-off time.
Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys hit out at the original decision to suspend the game at Elland Road. Taking to Twitter during the original incident, he wrote: "Are we so dependent on technology now that Leeds/Arsenal can’t be played? They’ve gone off because the ref has no contact with match centre. 40,000 are sat waiting for something to happen. This isn’t right. Just get on with it."
There will have been fears of a postponement amid the already-packed fixture list ahead of the World Cup in Qatar kicking off next month.
Any cancellation would throw the fixture list into yet more turmoil with a huge array of matches having been cancelled earlier this year following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Following their clash with Leeds United, Arsenal are next in action in midweek as they take on PSV Eindhoven in their rearranged fixture - the original match having already been moved. Meanwhile, Marsch's Leeds travel to the King Power Stadium to take on struggling Leicester City.
