Leeds United midfielder Jordan Stevens joins Bradford City on loan until end of season

Leeds United youngster Jordan Stevens has joined League Two outfit Bradford City on loan until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

Stevens had been on loan with Swindon Town in the first half of this season, playing 16 times and scoring just once.

The 20-year-old was initially meant to spend the entire season with Swindon but that loan was cut short. He will now spend the remainder of this term with the Bantams alongside fellow Leeds United loanee Bryce Hosannah.

Swindon Town manager John Sheridan pulled no punches in his assessment of Stevens during his time in Wiltshire.

“For Jordan’s sake – and this is me being honest to him – he needs to have a bit more fire in his belly and realise how fortunate he is to be a young footballer at a massive club, in my eyes.

“I just don’t think it’s worked out for him. He was here before I arrived, but he hasn’t played a lot of games since I arrived," he told the Swindon Advertiser.

In joining Bradford, Stevens drops down a division but will be closer to Leeds United's Thorp Arch training base. It is hoped that he can kick on by playing at a marginally lower level.

Prior to signing on loan this morning, Bradford City's interim boss Conor Sellars described Stevens as a player the club were looking to add.

“Obviously, he’s been at Leeds for a few years now and we’ve watched him in their (under) 23s and at Swindon as well. He’s definitely a player that we rate,” he said speaking to the Telegraph and Argus.
