Lambeth hostage incident: Woman in 20s being held against her will by knifeman

Armed police have descended on a London home amid reports a woman was being held by a knifeman.

Officers were called shortly after 1pm to an address in Streatham, south London.

The road has been closed off with police cars and an ambulance on the scene.

It is understood the woman involved is in her 20s.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 1.12pm to reports of a woman in danger at a residential address at Daysbrook Road, Lambeth.

"Officers attended. At the scene a female, believed to be in her 20s, is being prevented from leaving the property by a male armed with a knife.

"Specialist police units are on scene and dealing.

"Safety cordons have been established."

There have been no arrests and no reported injuries, the force confirmed.
