The season hasn’t even started yet and Michigan State basketball has been dealt its first piece of bad news.
Starting shooting guard Josh Langford will be out until at least January after re-aggravating the foot injury that caused him to miss much of last season.
Tom Izzo told assembled media the news at a surprise press conference following Mark Dantonio’s weekly press conference.
It’s a huge blow for a team with national championship expectations. Langford had resumed full basketball activities prior to the season after injuring his foot last year on the precipice of the Big Ten campaign.
Izzo says Langford will be re-evaluated in January.
Langford didn’t play in MSU’s closed-door scrimmage against Gonzaga.
