Former Liverpool and Newcastle United defender Jose Enrique has been given the all-clear by doctors following treatment to remove a brain tumour.
Spanish left-back Enrique, 33, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour in May 2018.
He underwent surgery in June last year and has also undergone a new form of treatment - proton therapy - in a bid to irradiate diseased tissue.
Enrique Also then had dozens of sessions of radiotherapy - which left him so weak that he was unable to brush his teeth or walk down the stairs unaided.
On Monday night he uploaded a video to his Instagram to reveal the news that his latest MRI scan showed he was all clear.
"Hello guys, I just had wonderful news today. I just got back the report from the MRI I had just a week-and-a-half ago," said Enrique.
"Remember when I posted the last picture of me and Amy putting the finger like that [thumbs up]? I just wanted to let you all know because the support has been amazing. It's all clear, it's all perfect.
"Obviously when I received the news me and Amy were together and even the dog could understand it as well, and we were so happy about it and I can just look forward now.
"Don't look back anymore and just keep fighting. OK, so it's all clear and perfect. Thank you guys."

He wrote alongside the video: "So guys, today I have received the best news!
"My surgeon Dr Simal has called me up after receiving my recent MRI results.
"He has confirmed and given me the all clear! The area is clean and looking amazing he said.
"So now onwards and upwards! Thank you all again for all of your support throughout it all.”
Enrique was diagnosed after falling ill last May while having dinner with Chris Hughton, with whom he worked at Newcastle.
Enrique retired from playing in 2017 due to a long-standing knee injury, and had been working as an agent.
Enrique's ex-Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, was one of the first to offer his well-wishes to his ex-teammate, declaring "Great news mate!"
