BREAKING: Jake Hastie set to face parent club Rangers as Motherwell loanee starts closed-door friendly

Motherwell loanee Jake Hastie will start tonights delayed closed-door friendly against parent club Rangers.

The winger will make his return to an empty Ibrox as he faces Steven Gerrard's side in Govan tonight as both clubs warm-up for the new season.

The kick-off for the game was postponed until 8pm as clubs were forced to wait for the results of Covid-19 tests.

The 21-year-old left the Steelmen in favour of a switch to Ibrox after a thrilling six-month spell for 'Well which led to a pre-contract deal with the Glasgow giants.

However, since the switch the forward has found first-team opportunities limited and spent time on loan at Rotherham in English League One.

Hastie will now be hoping to impress in his second spell in the claret and amber.

Stephen Robinson's side have so far defeated Dundee United and suffered defeat to Kilmarnock in pre-season while the hosts are returning after winning the Trophee Veolia warm-up tournament.
