Breaking: Izzy Brown completes Championship loan move

Chelsea academy graduate Isaiah Brown has completed a loan move to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

The 23-year-old will spend the full 2020/21 season on a temporary deal at Hillsborough, having impressed for Luton last season.

Brown played 25 times in the Championship for the Hatters this season, scoring one goal and providing seven assists.

He has been with Chelsea since 2013, after joining from West Bromwich Albion as a youngster, but the majority of his time at Stamford Bridge has been spent out on loan.

He has had spells at Bitesse, Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town, Brighton and Hove Albion, Leeds United and Luton Town.

His latest loan move will see him trying to help the Owls claw back a 12-point deduction issued to them for breaking spending rules.

Brown has had successful previous spells in the Championship, being part of the Huddersfield squad who earned promotion to the Premier League back in 2017.

The forward mad his debut for Chelsea in 2015, but that has been his only apprarance for the first team in his time at the club, although he has made 32 appearances for the U23s.

However, Frank Lampard has been known for giving youth a chance at Stamford Bridge, and Brown will be hoping to again impress in the Premier League in order to establish himself at Chelsea during the 2021/22 season.
