Hackney incident: Block of flats evacuated after 'explosive device' found

An entire block of flats in east London has been evacuated after an explosive device was reportedly found.

The complex in Dalston Lane, Hackney, has been sealed off by police.

Video shows officers have descended on the area in the early hours, while members of the public are standing outside the building.

One witness tweeted: "A block-wide evacuation has just taken place in Hackney on Dalston Lane.

"The whole block was awoken by police banging at 2:15 this morning."

They added police were responding to an "incident".

A tweet read: "(A104) Dalston Lane (Both Directions) at the junction of Pembury Road. Road closed in both directions due to an incident.

"Use other route. No reported delays."

The Mirror Online has contacted police for further details.
