Ben White has been added to England’s squad to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Brighton defender White, 23, impressed in England’s win over Romania on Sunday and is versatile enough to play right back, in a back three and also as a conventional centre half.
White got the nod ahead of James Ward-Prowse even though the Southampton midfielder would have been a popular choice.
Gareth Southgate must be aware that Harry Maguire is a fitness doubt and also England look frail defensively so White gets the nod.
The FA statement said: "Brighton & Hove Albion’s Ben White has been added to England’s 26-man squad for UEFA EURO 2020."

The 23-year-old replaces Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was ruled of the tournament last week through injury.
Having made his England debut against Austria in Middlesbrough last Wednesday, White further impressed on his first start for the Three Lions as he played the duration of Sunday’s win against Romania back at the Riverside Stadium.
It is just reward for the Dorset-born defender who capped his first full campaign in the Premier League by being named Brighton’s Men’s Player of the Season over the weekend.
Gareth Southgate’s squad will continue their tournament preparation at St. George’s Park this week ahead of the Group D opener against Croatia at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Euro 2020 kicks off on Friday night, with England’s clash with Croatia taking place at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
Southgate still has plenty to ponder before then, with fitness concerns remaining over Manchester United skipper Maguire and Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
Henderson played the second-half against Romania, missing a penalty as he returned following a near-four month lay-off after undergoing groin surgery in February.
Maguire is unlikely to be involved against Croatia having only just started running again after injuring his ankle last month.
