Breaking: Former Ohio State receiver Cris Carter and Fox Sports part ways amid dispute

Long-time FOX Sports personality Cris Carter has split from Fox Sports. The Pro Football Hall of Famer got his shot with the media company and eventually made his way as a co-host of FS1’s First Things First after working at ESPN for years.

A few days ago, Front Office Sports reported that Carter was taking a leave of absence, but it wasn’t known what would have come from that.

A statement released from the company only said “Cris Carter is no longer with Fox Sports. There is no further comment at this time.” This is a vague reason for his departure so more on the dispute should come to light in the coming days.

It’s unknown who will replace Carter, one of the more vocal personalities in the company. Carter had moved from HBO Sports’ Inside to ESPN and then to Fox Sports, accruing many followers along the way.

As a former Ohio State Buckeye, Carter ranks fourth in all-time receiving yards and ninth in single-season receiving yards with his terrific 1986 campaign.

Carter, 53, spent 12 seasons in the NFL. He amassed 1,101 career receptions and 130 touchdowns. One of the best receivers in NFL history, it’ll be interesting to see where Carter lands when this is all over.

It’ll also be interesting to see what comes out in terms of what led to the split between him and FOX Sports.
