BREAKING: Emergency services respond to 'huge' Lanarkshire house fire

Emergency services are currently in attendance at a house fire in Uddingston.

Four fire appliances are battling the huge blaze at the property in the Cuillins Estate, just off Old Ediinburgh Road, in the Lanarkshire town.

Locals have reported seeing smoke billowing from the property with reports on social media claiming the roof of the house is completely destroyed.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live : “Police were made aware of a fire at a property in The Cuillins, Uddingston, around 2.50pm on Monday, April 19.

“Emergency services are in attendance and no-one has been injured.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.36pm on Monday, April 19 to reports of a fence and decking on fire at a property at The Cuillins, Uddingston.

“Operations Control immediately mobilised two appliances to the scene, where a fire had spread to a semi-detached property, and a further four appliances were mobilised.

“Crews are currently still in attendance and there are no reported casualties at this time.”
